Overview

Requirements

  • An interview.
  • Students must have an acoustical piano or full size electric piano.
  • Students are expected to perform in the studio recitals.
  • All students are required to participate in the May Recital with few exceptions. This is a vital part of the learning process, building confidence, and giving each student a goal to master a performance piece. And, it also brings closure to the season.

Guidelines for Practicing

  • Students are expected to practice at least 20-30 minutes per day.
  • Schedule a consistent daily practice time.
  • Practice is crucial.

*I will take 4-year-olds that have the right hand size, good listening skills, and an attention span of at least 30 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to have a piano?

Having a piano is required to enroll. You need an instrument for practicing between lessons.


Do you take students that have keyboards?

Full-sized keyboards only. Keyboards must have weighted keys and pedals.


Does my child have to be able to read?

No. Pre-readers are fine.


How long should I practice every day?

20 - 30 minutes for preschool - 1st grade. 2nd grade and beyond need 30 - 45 minutes.


Does Kaye give make-up lessons?

Make-up lessons are at Kaye's discretion, based on her schedule.
